A wise
man once said that the difference between interest and
commitment is that when an individual is interested in
something, they do it when it’s convenient, but when an
individual is committed to something, they accept no excuses,
only results (Kenneth Blanchard).
Commitment is the hallmark that distinguishes
Terry Skepple’s attitude towards changing the lives of young
women in our community from any other. Mrs.
Skepple moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in July of 1993.
Since that time, her desire to see a difference in the
attitudes and mindsets of the young women in our territory grew
to the point where she decided to establish an organization that
would be dedicated to teaching teenage girls how to live
effective, successful and fulfilling lives.
Terry Skepple is the Founder and Executive Director of the
Sister 2 Sister organization. She established
the organization in August of 2003, in hopes of reaching out to
teenage girls between the ages of 13-17.
A considerable part of Mrs. Skepple’s motivation and
dedication to the Sister 2 Sister organization is the success
that she has been blessed with in her own life.
She grew up in a home where morals, integrity and purity
were emphasized, and as a result of her heeding the instructions
she received, she went on to attend college at the University of
Central Texas. While there, she
acquired both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Counseling
Psychology. Not long after these
accomplishments, she married her husband, Dexter Skepple.
Currently both her and her husband are the founding
pastors of Speak the Word Ministries International, a thriving,
blessed, non-denominational ministry on the island of St. Croix.
